Collection: Shelley MacDonald Jewellery
Ottawa-based artist Shelley MacDonald uses a variety of materials including upcycled leather and fur from the Yukon, metals, stones, ivory, musk ox horn and wood to craft unique and beautiful jewellery. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and handmade using an array of techniques such as fabrications, casting, piercing, riveting and soldering.
Shelley interprets natural elements in metal to obscure the connection between botanical forms and the human body. This earthy style reflects her study of botany, which displays tenacity over urban structures. Shelley challenges herself to represent the relationship of natural elements to the lines and shape of the body, while maintaining the strength inherent in metal.
